Peer Review Process

At Animal BioSphere, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific quality and integrity. The peer review process is a fundamental aspect of ensuring the quality and credibility of the research published in our journal. Below is an overview of our peer review process:

1. Initial Manuscript Submission:

Authors submit their manuscripts through the Animal BioSphere online submission system, including all necessary supplementary materials and declarations of potential conflicts of interest.

2. Editorial Office Screening:

Upon receipt, the Animal BioSphere editorial office conducts an initial screening to ensure that the submission complies with the journal's guidelines, such as formatting, ethical standards, and scope alignment. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned to authors for revision or declined.

3. Editor Assignment:

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an Associate Editor or Editorial Board member with expertise in the relevant field of biology or genetics. The assigned editor evaluates the manuscript's suitability for peer review and selects potential reviewers with relevant expertise.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review:

Animal BioSphere employs a double-blind peer review process in which the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Reviewers assess the manuscript for scientific accuracy, originality, methodology, significance, and adherence to ethical standards. Reviewers provide constructive feedback and make recommendations for revision or acceptance.

5. Reviewer Reports:

Reviewers submit detailed reports, including comments and recommendations, to the assigned editor. Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject. Editors use these reports to make an informed decision.

6. Editorial Decision:

Based on the reviewer reports and their own assessment, the assigned editor makes a decision on the manuscript. Authors are informed of the decision, and, if revisions are required, they are provided with clear instructions and a timeline for resubmission.

7. Revision and Resubmission:

If revisions are requested, authors are expected to address all reviewer comments and concerns. Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the same editor and, if necessary, by the original reviewers.

8. Final Decision:

Once a manuscript is deemed acceptable, it moves to the production phase for copyediting, typesetting, and publication. Authors are notified of the acceptance, and a publication date is determined.

9. Publication:

Accepted manuscripts are published in the relevant issue of ABGR and are made freely accessible to the scientific community and the public.

10. Post-Publication Review:

Animal BioSphere welcomes ongoing scientific discourse and encourages readers to submit comments or letters to the editor regarding published articles.

Animal BioSphere is committed to providing authors with constructive feedback, maintaining the highest ethical standards, and ensuring the rigorous evaluation of submitted manuscripts. Our peer review process is designed to uphold the integrity and quality of research published in our journal while fostering scientific collaboration and advancement in the fields of biology and genetics.

Content Management System (CMS)

Animal BioSphere utilizes a robust and user-friendly Content Management System (CMS) to streamline the publication process, manage submissions, and ensure efficient communication among authors, editors, and reviewers. Our CMS is designed to facilitate the following key functions:

1. Manuscript Submission:

Authors submit their manuscripts through the online submission portal, accessible through the Animal BioSphere website. The submission system guides authors through the process, allowing them to upload their manuscripts, supplementary materials, and any required documents.

2. Peer Review Management:

The CMS is equipped with a peer review management module that enables editors to oversee the peer review process efficiently. Editors can assign submissions to appropriate reviewers, monitor progress, and receive and store reviewer reports securely.

3. Author and Reviewer Portals:

Authors and reviewers have dedicated portals within the CMS. Authors can track the status of their submissions, access reviewer comments, and submit revisions. Reviewers can access assigned manuscripts, submit their reviews, and communicate with editors.

4. Editorial Workflow:

The CMS supports a structured editorial workflow, which includes manuscript submission, editor assignment, peer review, decision-making, and publication. Editors can easily manage each step of the process, ensuring timely communication and decision-making.

5. Version Control and Tracking:

The CMS maintains version control of manuscripts, allowing editors, authors, and reviewers to access the most recent versions of submissions. Detailed tracking and timestamping ensure transparency and accountability.

6. Communication Tools:

Built-in communication tools (e.g., email notifications, discussion threads) facilitate seamless interactions among authors, reviewers, and editors. Automated reminders help maintain deadlines and keep the workflow on track.

7. Production and Typesetting:

After acceptance, the CMS supports the transition of accepted manuscripts to the production phase. Copyediting, typesetting, and formatting are managed through the CMS, ensuring consistent presentation across published articles.

8. Publishing Integration:

The CMS integrates with our publication platform, allowing for the seamless publication of accepted articles on the Animal BioSphere website. DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) are automatically assigned to published articles for citation and indexing.

9. Accessibility and Security:

The CMS is designed with accessibility and security in mind, ensuring that data, manuscripts, and communications are protected. Accessibility features enable all users to engage with the system.

10. Analytics and Reporting:

The CMS generates reports and analytics to track the performance of the journal, including manuscript submission statistics, reviewer response times, and publication metrics.

Our CMS is regularly updated to incorporate the latest features and improvements to enhance the user experience and streamline the publication process. Animal BioSphere is committed to utilizing technology to support the dissemination of high-quality research in the fields of biology and genetics.
