Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy

Animal BioSphere is committed to the principles of open science, ensuring that all research is freely accessible to the global community without barriers. This policy outlines our approach to open access publishing, copyright, licensing, and funding compliance.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Animal BioSphere is an open-access journal dedicated to promoting high-quality research in biology and animal science. To sustain the publication process, ensure rigorous peer review, and maintain open access to all articles, the journal charges Article Processing Charges (APCs). These fees cover the costs associated with manuscript handling, Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration (permanent article identification), production, online hosting, and long-term archiving.

APC Structure

The standard APC for publishing in Animal BioSphere is $200/- USD per accepted article for international authors and 25000/-PKR for Pakistan-based authors. This fee applies to all article types, including:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Short Communications
  • Perspectives and Commentaries

The APC is payable only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Authors will receive an invoice with payment instructions upon acceptance.

Waivers and Discounts

Animal BioSphere is committed to supporting researchers from low- and middle-income countries. Partial or full APC waivers may be granted on a case-by-case basis for authors who demonstrate financial hardship. Requests for waivers must be submitted during the manuscript submission process and will be reviewed by the editorial office.

Additionally, discounts may be available for:

  • Early-career researchers (upon request and verification)
  • Authors from institutions with membership agreements with Genix Publisher
  • Group submissions (multiple articles from the same research group)

Payment Methods

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Credit/debit card (via secure online payment portal)
  • Bank transfer (details provided in the invoice)
  • Institutional or funding agency direct payment arrangements

Transparency and Funding Compliance

Authors are encouraged to check with their institutions or funding bodies regarding APC coverage. Many research grants and organizations (such as national science foundations, universities, and international agencies) allow APCs to be covered as part of publication costs.

Why Open Access?

By publishing open access in Animal BioSphere, authors benefit from:

  • Global visibility – Articles are freely accessible to researchers, policymakers, and the public.
  • Higher citation potential – Open-access articles are often cited more frequently.
  • Compliance with funder mandates – Many funding bodies require open-access publication.
  • Rapid dissemination – Immediate availability upon publication accelerates scientific progress.
